Do you pray? Who do you pray to? I pray often and about everything and I pray to the God of the Bible. I have found that He answers my prayers and especially those prayers for wisdom that often come out of my mouth. I have often asked for wisdom as we have faced various challenges in health. And I am amazed and grateful as I see how God has answered again and again, granting me that wisdom and insight into how to proceed next.
I have a friend who calls moms with special needs children, warrior mothers. When we see a need with our child we work hard to find answers and help our children. I have 2 children with specific needs that have often driven me to prayer to find things that will help us. This website has come out of my personal struggles as a mother (and sometimes as a wife and daughter as well). You are seeing the results of hours of research to find what fits our situation.
I now have a 16 year old daughter who is thriving and feels good, although she is still on a restricted diet (the GAPS diet). Every time I look at her I am grateful that God led her to realize she needed to be gluten free and then led me to the GAPS diet. It has made such a huge difference in her life. Those are direct answers to prayer.
I have seen God answer prayers about my husband. He went off gluten at my suggestion and dropped 30 pounds in 6 weeks without doing anything else differently. We have found some other interventions for him which have helped some thyroid issues he has.
I saw God’s answers as I prayed about my youngest daughter when she had a battle with Lyme disease 1.5 years ago. She is doing well now but it was with prayer that I pursued various options putting together a program that worked, at least so far.
If you are struggling with health issues (or anything really) I encourage you to seek God’s wisdom. He made you and all this world; no one knows it better than Him. This is in addition to making sure you are not neglecting your spiritual health and well-being. You may find that 2014 holds some amazing answers for you or perhaps just God’s wonderful strength and grace to continue the fight.
If you have seen some encouraging answers to your prayers for health related questions and issues I would love to hear that story. Please share in the comments below for the encouragement of all of us.
