Do you practice intermittent fasting? Did you know that there is a new company called Pique Tea, that makes teas specifically geared to improve your fasting response and help manage hunger?
I was able to try several Pique teas recently and was quite impressed. I tried Ginger Digestion Elixir, Mint Tea, and Matcha Green Tea. I liked all three of them. I must say one of the things that impressed me most was that I didn’t have to brew tea. I was able to just mix the tea powder with cold water and drink it as soon as I needed something.
Pique cold brews organic, whole leaf tea at low temperatures for up to 8 hours. This unique process extracts antioxidants and phytonutrients and the tea ends up with a very high concentration of antioxidants. The tea then dissolves in cold or hot water and is instantly available with a high concentration of phytonutrients for good health.
And did you know that tea is one of the most pesticide laden crops and commonly farmed in areas of high industrial pollution. With unnaturally long shelf-lives, teabags can also accumulate toxic mold in harmful quantities. These toxins have been linked to a range of long-term health issues for regular tea drinkers. Pique screens for dangerous and common toxins like: 1) Pesticides, 2) Heavy metals and 3) Toxic mold. So this tea is really safe for you to drink and will actually deliver the benefits they promise.
Matcha Green Fasting Tea
The Matcha Green tea is specifically designed working with Dr. Jason Fung (my fasting hero), to be perfect for drinking while fasting.
- Concentrated antioxidants. Formulated with our proprietary blend of high-catechin Japanese green Tea Crystals.
- Mood boosting. Matcha’s calming amino acid, L-theanine, plus a double dose of green tea caffeine promotes a unique feeling of zen energy — “zenergy.”
- Calms hunger pangs. With a hint of peppermint tummy-pleasing peppermint. Geishas in Japan actually used to eat mint leaves before dinner so they wouldn’t overeat!
