There are many many different essential oil companies out there now and it can be overwhelming to decide what company to use. This is especially true when friends are selling oils and you want to be supportive of them and their business.
(This post does contain affiliate links as I have decided after using their products to become an affiliate for Plant Therapy. I will benefit if you purchase through my links, but at no additional cost to you.)
Personally I have decided to avoid MLM companies overall and so don’t buy certain oils although I know the big essential oil MLM’s have good quality oils. But there are other companies out there with good oils as well; they just don’t participate in the MLM structure.
One company that I have liked and recently signed on as an affiliate is Plant Therapy. I was able to try out 3 of their oils in exchange for an honest review. I also have bought some of their oils in the past; (they have great sales on a regular basis, but especially as Christmas time).
Quality
Plant Therapy is committed to high quality oils, which is obvious when you use their products. They test their oils for purity and have very strict standards of testing, involving several different steps. This includes Robert Tisserand, who has been evaluating essential oils for over 40 years.
They also investigate their farmers and sources of products very thoroughly and will accept those of the clearest and highest standards. And they test 3-5 samples from different suppliers for every essential oil that they buy and for every new batch. (source)
“Every bottle of oil that you purchase from Plant Therapy will have a specific batch code that tells us exactly what batch of oil is in your bottle. This information is also directly linked to the testing reports for each batch of oil. You can see each essential oil’s GC/MS report by going to the essential oil’s product page and clicking on Test Reports.” (source)
The Company
Plant Therapy is family owned by regular people like you and I. The owners are Chris and Amanda Jones, based in Idaho. They have several other family members who are part of the management team. They also give back to the larger community through several charitable organizations like Toys for Tots, Make a Wish Foundation, Shriner’s Hospitals, and Africa Heartwood Project. (source)
They also have a great website that is very easy to navigate and contains a significant amount of information about their company, about essential oils, and about their specific products. Customer service is very good with this company as well.
Free Shipping
Another thing I love about this company is that they offer free shipping to all US customers. That wins big points with me, as shipping can add up quickly.
Oils Review
I like that Plant Therapy has many different blends. Since I am not an aromatherapist and have limited knowledge about the oils and their benefits, I appreciate when someone else with much more knowledge does that work for me. So far I have only used blends from Plant Therapy, although they have all the individual oils as well.
The oils I received to review are Deodorizing Blend, Balance, and Worry-Free. I had already purchased and used the other blends that I review below.
Deodorizing
Of these 3 my favorite is Deodorizing. It is a citrus blend and really perks up the room when it is diffused. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Palmarosa,Lemon, Patchouli, Coriander, Pink Grapefruit, Cypress, Bergamot,Tea Tree. I would like to try this in my homemade deodorant as it has a fresh and clean scent. This is definitely a great oil to diffuse when you don’t like the odors in your home or on your person.
Balance Synergy
This blend is specifically for women, during their monthly cycle to help with balance and calmness. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Palmarosa,Lavender, Petitgrain, Clary Sage, Geranium, Ylang Ylang, Rose,Jasmine, Neroli. (source) Although I found this blend works well, I don’t particularly enjoy the scent. It is very flowery and that is not a favorite smell of mine. With 3 daughters in the house though, I will diffuse it as needed, because it does help with that needed balance and calmness.
Worry-Free
This blend contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Lavender,Marjoram, Ylang Ylang Complete, Sandalwood, Vanilla CO2, Roman Chamomile. I find this to be a pleasant smelling blend with some help to the anxious and tense members of my family. The trick is to remember to diffuse it when someone is not doing well (and that I don’t always remember.)
Oils I already had on hand from about 6 months ago are Tension Relief, Immune Aid, Germ Fighter, Brain Aid, and Clarity.
Tension Relief
I found this blend is really helpful when there is conflict and irritability and tension in my home. It seems to relax and settle down high strung family members. We have used it much more than the worry-free blend. I like the smell very much, asthe cinnamon and ginger comes through. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Peppermint,Eucalyptus Globulus, Rosemary, Spearmint, Lavender, Basil linalool,Ravensara, Cinnamon Leaf, Ginger Root, Roman Chamomile.
Immune Aid
This oil does what it claims, builds the immune system. I try and diffuse this several times each week throughout the fall, winter, and spring, just to keep colds and flu at bay. We do a number of things to help build our immune systems, so I can’t say this is the reason we stay very healthy, but I am sure it helps. And I also like the smell of this blend. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Frankincense,Tea Tree, Rosemary, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Sweet Orange. We also alternate this blend with the one below.
Germ Fighter
I also use Germ Fighter to keep my household healthy. This basically has the ingredients of theives oil so seems to be Plant Theray’s Thieves oil blend, which is a favorite blend of mine. I have done done this but I could add this to cleaning products and homemade lotion or deodorant for extra protection that way, and I may just do this now that I am thinking about it. This ontains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Lemon, Clove,Eucalyptus, Cinnamon Cassia, and Rosemary.
Brain-Aid
I have a daughter who is a college student. Currently she is studying Anatomy and Physiology and Brain Aid and Clarity (below) are helping her when she studies. We got her a diffuser so she can diffuse these blends in her room and she sees a difference when she studies with them. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Pink Grapefruit,Bergamot, Palmarosa, Juniper Berry, Basil linalool, Lemon,Rosemary, Peppermint, Litsea (May Chang) and Star Anise. This also has a great smell.
Clarity
I think of the two blends, my daughter’s favorite for studying is the Clarity. It contains the 100% pure, undiluted essential oils of: Bergamot, Basil Linalool, Lemon, and Grapefruit.
Although I have not used them or tried them, Plant Therapy has a line of Kid-Safe oils. These are especially designed to be safe for kids and also to address kids problems. They are the first ever line of essential oils developed for children and are designed for kids, ages 2-10 (although they will be fine for older kids and adults too). I am impressed with the commitment of Plant Therapy to safety and would totally use this with my kids, except I don’t have anyone under 10 anymore.
My Affiliate Link
As I mentioned I am an affiliate and if you order from Plant Therapy it is greatly appreciate if you order through my link as I will benefit.

I have used the Kid Safe Nighty Night, and it works as well for adults as it does for kids. The price is what started me using Plant Therapy, but the quality is what has kept me.
